At this point in their career no one can doubt the quality of the North American Alter Bridge, with more than 15 years of career, the band led by Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti have left the label of “the band of former members of Creed “, to become one of the best rock bands of the XXI century without a doubt with such remarkable albums behind them as” Blackbird “(the best of his career) or” AB III “, the band is already consolidated within of their scene and they are currently in the best moment of their career, already filling large pavilions all over the world (Spain included, where on their last tour they went from venues such as Razz and La Riviera to the Sant Jordi Club and the Palacio de Vistalegre, bursting both enclosures confirming his great form).
However, as far as their studio albums are concerned, perhaps the band is in a somewhat well-off state, and it is that albums like “The Last Hero” or “Fortress” or “Walk The Sky” itself have generated results. diverse between the public and the press, since although in all of them there are notable songs that stand out within those works, the truth is that none of them lives up to the first 3 albums of the North American band.
But the machinery in AB does not stop and in these months of quarantine and uncertainty for everyone, the band continued working on what will be their seventh studio album and until that moment comes, they have wanted to give their followers an ep of 7 songs, highlighting a new song entitled “Last Rites”, a super powerful cannon that cannot be explained as it was left out of his last album, being far superior to some songs that were included in it, however it shows us the most powerful face of Alter Bridge and it will surely delight the fans of the band.
Regarding the live tracks, there are up to 6 including “Pay No Mind”, “Godspeed” or “Wouldn’t You Rather”, and here little can be added that is not already known and that is that Alter Bridge have an impeccable live show that enhances the studio versions of their songs and in this EP you can see a small (great) sample of it.
To be fair it is not an essential album to get to know this great band, but if you are a follower and would like to complete the collection, you should already get a copy of this EP because it is worth it, but as I said for those of you who do not know much about them I recommend that you listen to the first three albums of the band, which is the best way to start in the universe of one of the best rock bands of the last three decades that is called Alter Bridge.
