“St.

Gentlemen we are going to talk about a band that needs no introduction THUNDER. And it is that this English band after more than 30 years of career will begin its journey with “Backstreet Symphony” in 1990 led by one of the best voices of English rock Danny Bowes, they emerged as the heirs of rock from the 60s and 70s, and after their 12 studio albums they hit the ground running with their 13 album “All the Right Noises”. The album went on sale on March 12 via BMG, the cover is a photo of the artwork “Singing Ringing Tree” that was made by Jason Joyce, a regular collaborator of the band, and as a curiosity in the vinyl edition it comes out as a foldout of this work when opening the covers.
What does Thunder bring us on this album? Well, that Hard Rock with bluesy touches of the house, but we also find touches of country, gospel choirs and soul. The album begins with a whiplash “Last one out turn off the lights” with an initial riff to the “Whole Lotta Love” and a crushing drum beat serves as input for this hit in which the band gives their opinion of Brexit . The next song “Destruction” is a heavy guitar song, dense, where Luke and Ben give a good account of their quality to the guitars and that can be reminiscent of Led Zeppelin. “The smoking gun” continues, a western theme with acoustic guitars and where the sound of a Jew’s harp appears, very typical of Harry, the inclusion of all kinds of instruments. “Going to Sin City” is another tune that makes you shake, including wind instruments and good backing vocals. “Don’f Forget to Live Before you Die”, a song that comes in with that heavy bass and Danny with a radio voice, another dense song, with those devastating guitars. “I’ll be the One”, a ballad conducted by Ben’s piano and sung wonderfully by Danny, overwhelming you to the point of making a lump in your throat.
“Young Man” is another powerful track, with the inclusion of the Hammond organ in the chorus, and the inclusion of Harry from the cowbell in a post-chorus part that the band sings, and good backing vocals. “You’re Gonna Be My Girl” is another hectic track with the inclusion of gospel choirs that forces you to shake your body non-stop, and with Ben’s piano playing as a Saloon pianist, giving the song some beautiful nuances. “St. George’s Day ”is a solemn theme where the band talks about the problem of immigration and existing politics, with Arabic winks on the keyboards. “Force of Nature” begins with the acoustic guitar accompanied by the maracas, guitar, sticks, and then enters the subject with all its force, in this song Thunder with his characteristic English humor sends a wink to Mr. Trump. “She’s a Millonairess” is a song with a southern air and that together with its chorus is a good song that does not let you stop the body, a good final touch..
In short, Luke, Ben, Chris, Harry and Danny are in top form, giving rise to one of their best albums, being able to perfectly rub shoulders with the laureate “Laughing of Judgment Day”, and although I have to confess that I am a staunch fan of the band It does not mean that this album is classified as BIG LP, BIG LP, BIG LP (I was moved). All the best.
