Reseña – Review: Visions Of Atlantis “A Symphonic Journey To Remember”

A veces esperar a que sea al momento adecuado acaba dando los resultados esperados aunque hayan mil obstáculos en el camino.

Pero por suerte Visions Of Atlantis son perseverantes y tras más de una década de carrera, este 2020 han podido lanzar el primer dvd en directo de la banda que hoy lidera la carismática Clementine Delauney, una de las mejores cantantes ya no sólo de su escena sino del siglo XXI.

Para la ocasión eligieron el escenario del Bang Your Head Festival 2019, en donde la banda participó compartiendo escenario con grupos tan importantes como Avantasia, Skid Row o Steel Panther entre otros.

Y aunque podría ser un concierto más y en cierta medida menor ya que se trata de un festival, resulta que la banda es muy popular en tierras germanas con lo cual pudieron realizar un show muy parecido al que vimos este año en el marco de su gira europea como cabezas de cartel, con más de 80 minutos de show y para hacerlo aún más especial contaron con parte de la orquesta sinfónica de Praga, que acabó por hacer aún más mágica la noche para Visions Of Atlantis.

Respecto al show si no habéis visto nunca a Visions Of Atlantis, os estáis perdiendo a una de las mejores bandas de metal sinfónico del planeta, que quizás no tenga el tirón de bandas como Epica Y Nightwish en cuanto a popularidad se refiere, pero creedme si os digo que tienen poco que envidiarles con un directo muy sólido, muy correctos a nivel instrumental y con una conexión mágica que sólo tiene Clementine con el público y que está muy bien respaldada por su compañero Michele Guaitoli.

El concierto es un viaje extenso y muy bien calibrado por la carrera de la banda austriaca con temas nuevos como “Wanderers”, “Heroes Of The Dawn” o “The Deep & The Dark”, que encajan perfectamente con clásicos como “Memento”, “Lost” (especialmente emotiva que te provoca un escalofrío desde el segundo uno en que empiezan a interpretarla) o la mítica “Seven Seas”, todas perfectamente ejecutadas y con una Clementine sublime a las voces y una presencia mágica en cualquier escenario que se presente y esta noche no iba a ser la excepción.

Pero si tenemos que destacar algunos momentos concretos del concierto diría que la versión brutal y muy enérgica de “A Journey To Remember” (tema extraído de su último disco “Wanderers”), el momento íntimo y muy muy especial en “Nothing Last Forever”, que enmudeció a todo el recinto debido al vozarrón que Clementine posee y la emoción que desprende la canción y por supuesto el fin de fiesta con el himno “Return To Lemuria”, con el que se despidieron de un público (a mi entender un pelín frío durante la primera mitad del show) que acabó rendido ante el talento de Visions Of Atlantis.

En estos tiempos en los que editar música en formato físico es realmente complicado, es de admirar como Visions Of Atlantis han podido sacar adelante este ambicioso proyecto, el cual viene muy bien presentado en una caja digipack que aparte del dvd contiene el cd con el concierto íntegro y además un Blu-Ray que contiene el mismo concierto, siendo una pieza de lujo para los fans de la banda y una gran muestra del talento que tienen estos chicos.

Sólo nos queda esperar que la banda nos siga regalando su talento por muchos años más y que sigan ofreciendo conciertos tan buenos y completos como el que hemos podido ver en este “A Symphonic Journey To Remember”, porque señoras y señores en su estilo Visions Of Atlantis tienen muy pocos rivales y este directo es la mejor y más contundente prueba de ello.

Sometimes waiting for the right moment ends up giving the expected results even if there are a thousand obstacles on the way.

But luckily Visions Of Atlantis are persevering and after more than a decade of career, this 2020 they have been able to launch the first live dvd of the band that today is led by the charismatic Clementine Delauney, one of the best singers not only of her scene but also XXI century.

For the occasion they chose the stage of the Bang Your Head Festival 2019, where the band participated sharing the stage with groups as important as Avantasia, Skid Row or Steel Panther among others.

And although it could be one more concert and to a certain extent less since it is a festival, it turns out that the band is very popular in German lands, with which they were able to perform a show very similar to the one we saw this year as part of their tour European headliners, with more than 80 minutes of show time and to make it even more special they had part of the Prague Symphony Orchestra, which ended up making the night even more magical for Visions Of Atlantis.

Regarding the show if you have never seen Visions Of Atlantis, you are missing one of the best symphonic metal bands on the planet, which may not have the pull of bands like Epica and Nightwish in terms of popularity, but believe me if I tell you that they have little to envy them with a very solid live performance, very correct on an instrumental level and with a magical connection that only Clementine has with the public and that is very well supported by his partner Michele Guaitoli.

The concert is a long and very well calibrated journey through the Austrian band’s career with new songs like “Wanderers”, “Heroes Of The Dawn” or “The Deep & The Dark”, which fit perfectly with classics like “Memento”, “Lost” (especially emotional that makes you shiver from the second they start to perform it) or the mythical “Seven Seas”, all perfectly executed and with a sublime Clementine to the voices and a magical presence on any stage that arises. and tonight was not going to be the exception.

But if we have to highlight some specific moments of the concert I would say that the brutal and very energetic version of “A Journey To Remember” (a song taken from his latest album “Wanderers”), the intimate and very very special moment in “Nothing Last Forever” , which silenced the entire venue due to the booming voice that Clementine possesses and the emotion that the song gives off and of course the end of the party with the hymn “Return To Lemuria”, with which they said goodbye to an audience (in my opinion a little cold during the first half of the show) that ended up surrendered to the talent of Visions Of Atlantis.

In these times when editing music in physical format is really complicated, it is to be admired how Visions Of Atlantis have been able to carry out this ambitious project, which is very well presented in a digipack box that, apart from the dvd, contains the cd with the concert Full and also a Blu-Ray that contains the same concert, being a piece of luxury for the fans of the band and a great sample of the talent that these guys have.

We can only hope that the band continues to give us their talent for many more years and that they continue to offer concerts as good and complete as the one we have seen in this “A Symphonic Journey To Remember”, because ladies and gentlemen in their Visions Of Atlantis have very few rivals and this direct is the best and most conclusive proof of it.
