Reseña – Review: Hammerfall “Live! Against the world”

Hacer una reseña de una banda como HAMMERFALL es todo un placer para un servidor. Desde sus inicios en el 97 con el laureado “Glory to the brave” hasta la actualidad es una banda que se ha mantenido siempre en el candelero siendo fiel a un estilo de metal clásico-power muy suyo.

Desde que vi a la banda en 2003 en directo en el festival Metalmania de Villarobledo a la gira acontecida el año pasado, que tuve el placer de verlos en Rock Fest Barcelona, en la que presentaban su ultimo trabajo “Dominion”, puedo decir que no han perdido un ápice de fuerza en directo y que a pesar de los cambios de formación, la ultima fue el batería Anders Johansson que fue sustituido por David Wallin en 2016, suenan brutales.

Pues esto es lo que vamos a encontrar en este doble cd “Live! Against the world”, la grabación del concierto que descargaron en el MHP Arena de Ludwigsburg en Alemania, 20 temas de Hammerfall en estado puro y en plena forma, un DIRECTAZO.

El concierto comienza con la intro y primer tema de su último trabajo de estudio “Never forgive, Never Forget”, temazo muy Hammerfall que te pone las pilas desde el minuto uno, para seguir con “One againts the world” un temazo épico con una base rítmica brutal abanderada por la batería de David, casi sin tiempo para respirar suena la batería para darle la intro a “Heeding the call” tema inicial del discazo “Legancy of kings” del 98 con un Cans pletórico.

Un pequeño respiro para el público y la banda con una arenga de Cans para dar paso al siguiente corte “Way of the warrior”, temazo épico con un punteo en el inicio de la canción a cargo del amigo Dronjak simplemente sublime. Seguimos con el tema “Any Means Necessary”, son esos temas con un estribillo muy pegadizo y en medio tiempo que suena de lujo para seguir con “Hallowed Be My Name”, ambos temas del disco “No sacrifice, no victory”, este último de los temas que más me gusta de este vinilo, con esas guitarras pesadas llevando la base rítmica.

A continuación le toca el turno a “Blood bound” del disco “Chapter V: Unbet, unbowen, unbroken” y donde Dronjak muestra su maestría con las 6 cuerdas en un punteo de los más preciosista para mi gusto. Casi sin respiro comienza la intro con el teclado del tema “Redemption”, una canción entre balada y medio tiempo del más que criticado “Infected” del 2011 donde la banda dio un cambio tanto en la temática de sus discos como en un sonido algo más oscuro.

Volvemos a la brecha con “Hector’s Hymn”, tema con batería potente, coros pegadizos y épico que te pone las pilas en un pis-pas. A continuación la mini intro da paso al tema ”Natural High”, tema power que nos sigue cargando las energías a tope. Después de esta descarga de adrenalina, le toca el turno a la balada “Second to One”, cantada a dúo con Noora Louhimo ( Battle Beast), temazo donde Cans se compenetra perfectamente con Noora. A continuación viene el tema para mi más incomprensible de este directo “Renegade medley”, y no es porque no suene bien, sino porque mezcla varios temas del album “Renegade” y al final no disfrutamos de ninguno de las canciones al completo, por ejemplo para mi “Templars of Steel” es un temazo que luce solo.

Seguimos con el citado “Renegade”, con “Keep the flame burning”, temazo con mayúsculas, no entiendo cómo en su momento este disco fue muy criticado por falta de fuerza. A continuación volvemos a su último trabajo con el tema que da título al mismo “Dominion”, gran canción con guitarras pesadas de fondo y épico, marca Hammerfall. A continuación “The Dragon Lies Bleeding”, primer tema del “Glory to the brave” que suena como un tiro. Le sigue “ Last Man Standing”, tema del recopilatorio “Steel meets steel – ten years of glory” en el que aparecían 3 temas nuevos y este venia para quedarse. De nuevo Cans se dirige a sus huestes y les pregunta Let the????, “Let the Hammer Fall”, temazo con el que dan por finalizado su concierto.

Pero faltan los bises, “Hammer High” del disco “ Built to last”, comienza a sonar la batería y los coros que dan intro a esta canción, canción muy grande épica, marca de la casa. A continuación sonara “(We Make) Sweden Rock”, tema del ultimo disco donde se acuerda de su tierra y les hace un pequeño homenaje. Y este concierto acaba con el tema power “Hearts on fire” que pone la guinda a este CONCIERTAZO.

Debido a los tiempos que corren y por culpa de un bichito que nos esta fastidiando la vida a todos los que nos gusta la música en directo, tengo que decir que con este disco Hammerfall nos deleita con un Directo que satisface tanto a los fans más acérrimos, como a aquellos que incomprensiblemente nunca hayan escuchado hablar de Hammerfall. Solo me queda decir LET THE HAMMERFALL.

Next comes the most incomprehensible theme for me from this direct “Renegade medley”, and it’s not because it doesn’t sound good, but because it mixes several songs from the album “Renegade” and in the end we don’t enjoy any of the songs in full, for example for me «Templars of Steel» is a great song that shines on its own.

We continue with the aforementioned “Renegade”, with “Keep the flame burning”, a great song in capital letters, I don’t understand how at the time this album was widely criticized for lack of strength. Next we return to his latest work with the title track «Dominion», a great song with heavy guitars in the background and epic, Hammerfall brand. Then “The Dragon Lies Bleeding”, the first song from “Glory to the brave” that sounds like a shot. It is followed by “Last Man Standing”, the song from the compilation “Steel meets steel – ten years of glory” in which 3 new songs appeared and this one was coming to stay. Again Cans addresses his hosts and asks them Let the ????, «Let the Hammer Fall», a great song with which they end their concert.

But the encores are missing, “Hammer High” from the album “Built to last”, the drums and choruses begin to play that give intro to this song, a very great epic song, a brand of the house. Then “(We Make) Sweden Rock” will sound, the song from the last album where he remembers his homeland and pays them a small tribute. And this concert ends with the power theme “Hearts on fire” that puts the icing on this CONCERT.

Due to current times and because of a bug that is ruining the lives of all of us who like live music, I have to say that with this album Hammerfall delights us with a Live that satisfies both the most staunch fans. , as to those who have incomprehensibly never heard of Hammerfall. I can only say LET THE HAMMERFALL.
