Reseña – review: Papa Roach «Greatest Hits Vol.2 (The Better Noise Years)»

Quién diría que dos décadas después del mega éxito de «Last Resort», los californianos Papa Roach estarían celebrando su 21 cumpleaños con un nuevo disco recopilatorio que recorre la segunda etapa de la banda, quizás la más rockera y alternativa y menos nu-metalera.

Pero así es amigos y amigas, «Greatest Hits Vol.2», recorre la etapa que cubre esta década como banda en la carrera de Papa Roach, con lo cual aquí no encontrareis himnos como «Broken Home» o «Last Resort» ni baladones como «Scars», pero a cambio nos podemos encontrar con otros temazos de la banda como pueden ser «Still Swinging» , «Help» o el espectacular dueto con Maria Brink de In This Moment en el hit «Gravity».

En el disco se hace un recorrido extenso por los diversos palos que ha experimentado la banda desde el coqueteo con el rap y el dubstep en «Born For Greatness» hasta el metal rock alternativo de «Help» pasando por temas más habituales como pueden ser «American Dreams» , «Face Everything And Rise» o el himno que es «Kick In The Teeth».

En el apartado de detalles, nos encontraremos con 3 duetos, el ya comentado «Gravity» junto a la guapísima y talentosa Maria Brink, voz y líder de In This Moment , la «poppie» Periscope junto a Skylar Grey, que estaba incluida dentro de su disco «Crooked Teeth» y que es uno de los medios tiempos más bonitos en la historia de la banda y una versión a dúo de «Broken As Me» con Danny Worsnop, vocalista de Asking Alexandria y que está muy bien resuelta la verdad.

Para completar la banda ha añadido 4 remixes de los temas «Elevate» , «Help» , «Born For Greatness» y «Top Of The World» , que harán las delicias de quienes disfruten de la música electrónica y además dos versiones acústicas de «Face Everything And Rise» y «Leader Of The Broken Hearts», que cierran de forma notable este gran repaso a una década muy interesante de una de las mejores bandas que nos dio la década del 2000.
