Reseña – Review: Chamber “Cost Of Sacrifice”

Todos conocemos Nashville como la cuna del Country, al igual que en nuestro país se conoce Jerez como la cuna del flamenco. Pero siempre hay algo más. Y estos chicos nos demuestran que, realmente, hay mucho más. En este caso, Hardcore. Y no cualquier cosa, sino Hardcore de calidad, como nos demuestran en este su segundo disco de estudio, “Cost of Sacrifice”.

Para empezar, ya desde los primeros segundos del disco se intuye una marcada fuerza y contundencia que marcará la totalidad del nuevo trabajo de los sureños.

Comenzando con el tema “Fracture”, una canción con una elevada intensidad, en la que reconocemos además del tono Hardcore característico, una influencia muy fuerte de grupos tan legendarios como Converge. 

Un ritmo que se mantendrá durante casi todo el disco, con un leve “descanso” hacia la mitad, con el maravilloso tema instrumental “Impulse”, que nos evoca a la época dorada del post-rock, para continuar otra vez con esa contundencia y esa fuerza que caracteriza a los grupos de Hardcore, pero en este caso con una fuerza inconmensurable.

Está claro que el sonido de Chamber no dejará indiferente a nadie. La intensidad que mantienen durante todo el disco es un claro reflejo del periodo de transición que ha sufrido la banda, tal como ellos nos cuentan: “Todos estábamos pasando por nuestras propias luchas personales y encontramos consuelo trabajando en estas canciones y poniendo todo lo que estábamos sintiendo sobre la mesa. Todos estamos influenciados por diferentes tipos de música y arte, y si bien fue un desafío representar todas esas cosas en el disco de manera coherente, crecimos como compositores y músicos como resultado de ese desafío “.

Lo que está claro es que es un disco intenso, con unas melodías arrolladoras y un sentimiento desgarrador.

Y es que el disco, producido magistralmente por Randy LaBoeuf, te hará preguntarte ¿de dónde han salido estos tíos y por qué no los conocía ya?

We all know Nashville as the cradle of country, just as Jerez is known in our country as the cradle of flamenco. But there is always something more. And these guys show us that there really is so much more. In this case, hardcore. And not just anything, but quality hardcore, as his second studio album, “Cost of Sacrifice”, shows us.

To begin with, from the first seconds of the album a strong force and forcefulness is sensed that will mark the entirety of the new work of the southerners.

Starting with the track “Fracture”, a song with a high intensity, in which we recognize, in addition to the characteristic hardcore tone, a very strong influence from such legendary groups as Converge.

A rhythm that will be maintained throughout most of the album, with a slight “break” in the middle, with the wonderful instrumental song “Impulse”, which evokes the golden age of post-rock, to continue again with that forcefulness and that force that characterizes hardcore groups, but in this case with immeasurable force.

It is clear that the sound of Chamber will not leave anyone indifferent. The intensity they maintain throughout the album is a clear reflection of the transition period that the band has undergone, as they tell us: “We were all going through our own personal struggles and we found consolation working on these songs and putting everything we were feeling on the table. We are all influenced by different types of music and art, and while it was a challenge to represent all of those things on the record consistently, we grew as songwriters and musicians as a result of that challenge. “

What is clear is that it is an intense album, with overwhelming melodies and a heartbreaking feeling.

And the fact is that the album, masterfully produced by Randy LaBoeuf, will make you wonder: where did these guys come from and why didn’t I already know them?
