Las leyendas del hard rock australiano AC/DC vuelven de nuevo a la carga con un nuevo trabajo bajo el brazo titulado Power Up, que cuenta con 12 temas bajo el sello de Sony Entertainment y producido por Brendan O’Brien.

Los rayos de luz de este disco comenzaron a venir cuando hubo información de que había material inédito compuesto por los hermanos Young, más aún cuando comenzamos a ver esas fotos filtradas de la vuelta al local de ensayo de la formación habitual con la vuelta de Phil y Brian.

Como es habitual en ellos, su hard rock es totalmente pegadizo desde el minuto uno, como ocurre en ese primer adelanto que nos mostraron con Shot in the Dark en el que los coros del grupo le dan más fuerza aún a la voz de Brian. Lo que también puede ser sorprendente es escuchar un registro algo más grave que el agudo habitual en él Demon Fire.

Hablando de los riffs de guitarra, el de Kick You When You’re Down son realmente pegadizos, haciendo ver que el trabajo de Stevie Young se ha hecho más relevante como podemos ver en Systems Down y que, con los ritmos de Phil, todo lleva un ritmo que se te pegue el disco aún más en la cabeza. Todo esto sin ignorar lo que siempre ocurre con los trabajos de este mítico grupo: los solos de Angus Young siguen siendo pegadizos y muy elaborados Wild Reputation o No Man’s Land, el tema más corto del disco.

El disco puede dar lugar a los típicos comentarios de que el hard rock siempre es muy monótono a la hora de escucharlo (e incluso de tocarlo por parte de algunos músicos), pero consiguen el mismo objetivo: dar un chute de energía al cuerpo cuando lo escuchas, haciendo que el nombre de este trabajo sea muy acertado. Por lo que sabemos. aún no podemos asegurar que este haya sido el último trabajo del clásico quinteto porque aún sigue habiendo material inédito guardado, así que habrá que seguir estando pendientes.

Speaking of guitar riffs, the Kick You When You’re Down riffs are really catchy, making it look like Stevie Young’s work has become more relevant as we can see in Systems Down and that, with Phil’s rhythms, everything has a rhythm that sticks the record even more in your head. All this without ignoring what always happens with the works of this mythical group: Angus Young’s solos are still catchy and very elaborate, as we can see in Wild Reputation or No Man’s Land, the shortest song on the album.

The album can give rise to the typical comments that hard rock is always very monotonous when it comes to listening to it (and even playing it by some musicians), but they achieve the same goal: to give a shot of energy to the body when you listen to it, making the name of this job very accurate. For all we know. We still can not be sure that this was the last work of the classic quintet because there is still unpublished material saved, so it will be necessary to remain pending.
