Me presentó Art Gates Records.

Melodius Deite is a metal band that will bring us their new album “Elysium” next October through Art Gates Records, in Algoderock we have talk with Biggie, guitar and composer.
Algoderock: First of all, congratulations on the final result of “Elysium”, because among so much competition in the world of Power Metal, it has the conditions to make a place for itself among so many groups, how do you see the future with all this covid, album promotion , concerts, tours of other countries, etc?
MD: Hello guys, thank you very much for interviewing us. It’s Biggie (Guitars) here to answer all the questions. About the covid, it has affected us a bit because we can not plan our tour concert at the moment, but we can still make music at home, compose new songs, rehearse, practice, etc. But for sure, if the situation is better, we will do a tour in Thailand and other countries like Japan, Indonesia, Europe, etc.
Algoderock: Thailand is not known for having Metal or Rock bands, precisely, or at least for me, from what part of the world, outside of your country, do you follow the most?
MD: Actually, we have lots of rock bands here but they’re only popular in Thailand, not internationally. Mostly, only the mainstream pop rock bands can sell here. All metal bands here are considered as underground bands, so minority. But fortunately we still have some fans here in Thailand. We’ve been listening to many bands from Europe, America, Brazil and Japan.
Algoderock: Was it difficult to create “Elysium”? Have you taken advantage of confinement to write and compose?
MD: Nope, actually, I’ve finished composing all songs for “Elysium” longtime before the covid happened. I always compose something and put them into my musical stock.
Algoderock: An album that has brought several important changes, among them a practically new line-up. How was the selection of these components and, in particular, the selection of the Spanish keyboardist Diego Zapatero?
MD: Well, we had some difficult situations in changing band members, but it’s necessary because all the former members have to take care of their families and their everyday jobs. The time for the band is very limited for them, so they are all decided to leave the band. Then the searching for new members began. I tried to find the right person for “Elysium” and see if they fit with the musical concept that I’m doing. For Thai members, we’ve already known each other for a long time. We had some good jam sessions together in the past. For Diego, he sent a message to us and showed me his works. Then I listened, and Wow! He is a genius on keys. I’m impressed with his skill and imagination, so he joined the band ever since.
Algoderock: The Japanese singer Yama-B is also involved in at least four other groups, how does this affect you? Does he have absolute priority with Melodius Deite?
MD: Alright about Yama-B, we knew each other for sometimes, his bands and mine also performed in some concerts together both Japan and Thailand. He also likes our music, so I invited him to join the band and he said yes. About his priority, we already talked about this, so he could manage time for us then we have this new album “Elysium”.
Algoderock: Another important fact is the change of record company, how did you come to Art Gates Records?
MD: We were looking for the good professional label that can promote our music more and more to the world. Diego, our keyboardist lives in Spain. He introduced Art Gates Records to me. So we sent our band submission to them and fortunately, they liked “Elysium” very much. Then we started our great partnership together.
Algoderock: One of the strengths of “Elysium” with respect to its previous albums is how direct and modern it sounds, did you want it to be that way, more accessible instead of having more extensive Progressive Metal themes?
MD: Yeah, it was my intention to make “Elysium” this way from the beginning because I need each of our albums to have its own unique sound and characteristic. For this album, I need it to be modern, compact, straight to the point and heavy.
Algoderock: Melodius Deite fans will have been somewhat surprised by the introduction of death voices, how did this idea come about?
MD: Well, we’re talking about sins in this album, so I used death voices to represent the dark side of humans and the devil that always tries to drag you to do the bad things. In musical term, death voices are also really fit into this album’s style.
Algoderock: What attracts me the most, personally, about this “Elysium” is how well the keyboard and the guitar are connected, they create a perfect harmony bringing much more virtuosity and melody to the songs, what are your influences or what groups have inspired you?
MD: Generally, we’ve been inspired by many bands like Angra, Symphony X, Rhapsody of Fire, Dream Theater, etc.
Algoderock: I would also like to ask you about the fantastic cover, who was the creator and what did you want to convey?
MD: The artwork was created by Dusan Markovic.
This is our 4th album which is the continuing of 3rd album. Novelist and his apprentice are finding the new paradise because their recent world and paradise was destroyed by the war of the ancient gods and goddesses. The Archangels and the Olympians fought each other until the world came to an end. The conclusion of this gigantic battle is unclear which side are the victor. Novelist couldn’t write it down into his book because he must escape before he had no chance. And finally, he discovered the new paradise, where everything looks great and perfect at the beginning, but soon he realized that this new paradise is full of Seven Deadly Sins, all the beautiful things are just the surface. So the new story begins.
Algoderock: Well, now I just have to thank you and I’m sure “Elysium” will have a great reception. Good luck and we hope to see you soon in Spain.
MD: You are very welcome and again, thank you for interviewing us. We’re greatly appreciated. And we hope to have some shows in Spain too. See you there!
