Nunca una banda había puesto un título más idóneo a su nuevo disco. Y es que la banda húngara Ektomorf ha sabido renacer con un disco que desde principio a fin es una vuelta de tuerca al sonido crudo, duro Thrash Metal que siempre les ha caracterizado. este “Reborn” hace nada menos que el disco número 14 de su carrera contando con el disco en directo de 2006 “Live And Raw: You Get What You Give”.

26 años llevan a sus espaldas, actuando en los mejores festivales, siendo una de las bandas que llevan el Thrash Metal por todo el mundo, demostrando que este es un género que perdura en la historia de la música Metal.

El disco comienza con “Ebullition” toda una bofetada en plena cara, durísima, rapidísima, con unos coros que van a reventar cabezas, el mejor inicio, con estas perspectivas pasamos a la canción que da título al disco, “Reborn”, comienza con unas guitarras feroces, la melodía me ha recordado a los Sepultura de los inicios, muy fácil de detectar, a mitad de canción a golpe de batería el tema durante un instante se relaja para amantes de temas con cambios melódicos, el disco va por camino de dejarte totalmente exhausto, “And The Dead Will Walk”, siguiente corte, empieza con un sonido ambiental que te deja un poco asustado porque sabes que en cualquier momento te van a destrozar, como así es, la voz está distorsionada, dándole un aṕice de oscuridad, tenebroso y agresivo, excelente tema, sin descanso se nos viene encima “Fear Me”, una canción muy del estilo de los Ektomorf de sus inicios, una guitarra afilada, una batería dura, la voz agresiva, dando cortes, muy de mover cabezas en directo.

Está claro que la banda húngara con este disco han dado un paso adelante en su sonido, dándole un toque más duro y a la vez melódico. Seguimos la escucha con “Where The Hate Conceives”, comienza con una guitarra acústica, muy distinta al resto del álbum, una canción mucho más melódica dentro de la sordidez de todo el disco. En cuanto empieza el riff de guitarra el tema dan un cambio vertiginoso que te golpeará en todo el cráneo, guau!!!, puro Thrash Metal rápido, agresivo, para los amantes del género es un tema que van a disfrutar. Le sigue “The Worst Is Yet To Come”, las campanas de su inicio ya nos informan que nos encontramos ante la canción más dura y agresiva de todo el álbum, las campanas sonarán a lo largo de toda la canción para darle ese tono oscuro, la voz es como salida del mismísimo infierno, solo puedo decir que brutal.

Después de esta oda a la oscuridad nos encontramos con la canción más larga del disco, “Forsaken”, este comienzo de batería y bajo ufff, duro, muy duro, hace que el sonido se introduzca en tus entrañas desde la primera nota, a mi personalmente este tipo de temas donde el bajo es la línea que lleva el peso melódico me parecen una auténtica animalada, tema instrumental que pienso en directo va a ser destructivo, te dejará con la boca abierta, si respirar, la guitarra a mitad de la canción toma una importancia con un riff impresionante, melódico, fino, es un tema construido desde el sentimiento. El disco llega a su fin con “Smashing The Past”, tenían que hacerlo, tenían que terminar el disco por todo lo alto, con una canción que te llevará a los tiempos en los que el Thrash era el rey del Metal, rapidez para machacarte el puto cerebro a base de guitarras, batería y voces que no te dejarán ni un mito para respirar.

Definitivamente Ektomorf se pueden consagrar como una de las mejores bandas del Thrash Metal actualmente, algunos a lo mejor creen que exagero, a ellos solo les digo, poneros este “Reborn”, subid el puto volúmen y prepararos para recibir una auténtica bofetada de riffs agresivos, melodías, y una voz, la de Zoltán Farkas que parece salidda del mismo infierno.

The album begins with “Ebullition” a whole slap in the face, very hard, very fast, with some choruses that are going to burst heads, the best start, with these perspectives we move on to the song that gives the album its title, “Reborn”, it begins with fierce guitars, the melody has reminded me of the Sepultura of the beginning, very easy to detect, in the middle of the song to the beat of the drums the theme for a moment relaxes for lovers of themes with melodic changes, the album is on the way to leave you totally exhausted, “And The Dead Will Walk”, next track, begins with an ambient sound that leaves you a little scared because you know that at any moment they will destroy you, as it is, the voice is distorted, giving it an air of Dark, dark and aggressive, excellent theme, “Fear Me” is upon us relentlessly, a song very much in the style of the Ektomorf from their beginnings, a sharp guitar, a hard drums, an aggressive voice, giving cuts, very moving heads live.

We continue listening with “Where The Hate Conceives”, it begins with an acoustic guitar, very different from the rest of the album, a much more melodic song within the sordidness of the entire album. As soon as the guitar riff begins, the song gives a dizzying change that will hit you all over the skull, wow !!!, pure fast, aggressive Thrash Metal, for lovers of the genre it is a song that they will enjoy. It is followed by “The Worst Is Yet To Come”, the bells from its beginning already inform us that we are facing the hardest and most aggressive song of the entire album, the bells will ring throughout the entire song to give it that dark tone, the voice is like coming out of hell itself, I can only say how brutal.

After this ode to the darkness we find the longest song on the album, “Forsaken”, this beginning of drums and bass ufff, hard, very hard, makes the sound enter your gut from the first note, to me Personally, these types of songs where the bass is the line that carries the melodic weight seem to me to be a real animated, instrumental theme that I think live is going to be destructive, it will leave you with your mouth open, if you breathe, the guitar in the middle of the song It takes on an importance with an impressive, melodic, fine riff, it is a theme built from the feeling. Ektomorf can definitely establish themselves as one of the best Thrash Metal bands today, some may think I’m exaggerating, I’m just saying, put on this “Reborn”, turn up the fucking volume and get ready to receive a real slap of aggressive riffs , melodies, and a voice, that of Zoltán Farkas that seems to come out of hell itself.
