Reseña – review: From The Depth “Back To Life 10th anniversary”

From the Depth es una banda italiana que a raíz del bombazo del año pasado de su 2º disco “Moments”, reeditan a razon de su decimo aniversario su primer disco titulado “Back To Life 10th anniversary” a traves de Rockshots Records que sale a la venta el 19 de Febrero de 2021. Para quien no conozca esta banda esta comenzó su andadura en 2008, sacando en 2011 su primer disco que le llevo a girar con Rapsodhy of Fire, Sonata Arctica o Moonspell; despues de varios cambios de formación nos llevo a la salida de su segundo trabajo en 2020.

En este disco que se reedita lo que vamos a encontrar es power metal de escuela italiana emulando a grupos como Labirinth, Domine o Secret Sphere en sus inicios. Los únicos cambios que vamos a encontrar es una mejor producción y 2 temas extras, la regrabación por la nueva formación del tema “The Will To Be The Flame” y una versión acústica de “Nothing To You”.

Lo que se agradece de esta edición de “Back To Life” es la subsanación del error de su antecesor donde los teclados se comían literalmente a las guitarras, con lo que temas como “Live For Today” o “Our Music, Our Souls” suenan mucho mejor. Ademas el disco sigue manteniendo buenos temas como los nombrados anteriormente o la balada “The Cruel of Kindness”, que suena de maravilla poniéndola a toda pastilla en el equipo. Algo imperdonable para mi es el mantener la intro “Back To Live” y el interludio “Lack Of Emotions” en el disco, esta ultima pista es obviable.

En si es un disco de Power bien ejecutado que los fans acérrimos de la banda pueden agradecer esta edición mejorada, los amantes del power metal que no conozcan la banda es una buena oportunidad de adquirir el disco en versión 2.0; pero yo siempre me gusta quedarme con las primeras versiones. Y con respecto a los 2 temas extras, me parecen anecdóticos. Un saludo.

From the Depth is an Italian band that following last year’s bombshell of their 2nd album “Moments”, they reissued their first album entitled “Back To Life 10th anniversary” on account of their tenth anniversary through Rockshots Records which is sale on February 19, 2021. For those who do not know this band this began its journey in 2008, releasing its first album in 2011 that led them to tour with Rapsodhy of Fire, Sonata Arctica or Moonspell; After several training changes, he led us to the exit of his second job in 2020.

In this reissue album what we are going to find is Italian school power metal emulating groups like Labirinth, Domine or Secret Sphere in their early days. The only changes that we are going to find are a better production and 2 extra songs, the re-recording by the new line-up of the song “The Will To Be The Flame” and an acoustic version of “Nothing To You”.

What is appreciated in this edition of “Back To Life” is the correction of the error of its predecessor where keyboards literally ate guitars, with what songs like “Live For Today” or “Our Music, Our Souls” sound better. In addition, the album continues to maintain good songs such as those named above or the ballad “The Cruel of Kindness”, which sounds great putting it at full speed on the computer. Something unforgivable for me is keeping the intro “Back To Live” and the interlude “Lack Of Emotions” on the album, this last track is obvious.

In itself, it is a well-executed Power album that the band’s staunch fans can thank for this improved edition. Power metal lovers who don’t know the band are a good opportunity to acquire the album in version 2.0; but I always like to stay with the first versions. And with respect to the 2 extra themes, they seem anecdotal to me. Cordial greeting
