Ronin es una banda de Long Island (Nueva York) que nos trae su primer álbum homónimo que salió a la venta el 22 de Enero a través de las distintas plataformas digitales. Esta banda se formó en 2018 a través de la reunión de un grupo de amigos de primaria que de manera totalmente autodidacta aprenden a tocar los distintos instrumentos y se lanzan a tocar en los distintos garitos. En 2019 eran cada vez mas solicitados en la zona de Nueva York para la realización de sus bolos hasta que esta maldita pandemia lo paralizó todo, y entonces fue cuando decidieron entrar a grabar su primer larga duración. 

Ronin es una banda que suena a Heavy Metal con guitarras crudas, con cierto toque stoner, y a veces recordando incluso a Metallica en las bases de guitarra y con una voz muy característica, incluso tenemos guiños al punk rock americano. El disco tiene temas como “One in the Same” que en su intro me recueda a System of A Down, en la que entra en un ritmo pausado, con toques de psicodelia  donde se van introduciendo los instrumentos para romper con un tema de guitarras machaconas con tintes tenebrosos. O el tema “Spider and Fly” con una guitarra con el efecto guagua a toda pastilla, con medios tiempos en los que la guitarra acompaña a la voz. En el tema “Temptress” tenemos un tema que me recuerda a Sum 41.

En definitiva el disco se denota una “insuficiente” producción que provoca que no sea atractivo en su primera escucha, no obstante a medida que se realizan escuchas sucesivas se aprecia que han grabado un disco de los temas que les funcionarán en sus directos y se pueden apreciar sus distintos matices. Ronin is a band from Long Island (New York) that brings us their first self-titled album that goes on sale on January 22 through different digital platforms. This band was formed in 2018 through the meeting of a group of elementary school friends who, in a totally self-taught way, learn to play the different instruments and start playing in the different gambling dens. In 2019 they were increasingly requested in the New York area for their bowling until this damn pandemic paralyzed everything, and that was when they decided to enter to record their first full length.

Ronin is a band that sounds like Heavy Metal with raw guitars, with a certain stoner touch, and sometimes even reminiscent of Metallica on the guitar bases and with a very characteristic voice, we even have nods to American punk rock. The album has songs like “One in the Same” that in its intro reminds me of System of A Down, in which it enters a slow rhythm, with touches of psychedelia where the instruments are introduced to break with a theme of machacón guitars with dark tints. Or the song “Spider and Fly” with a guitar with the bus effect at full throttle, with half times in which the guitar accompanies the voice. On the song “Temptress” we have a song that reminds me of Sum 41.

In short, the album shows a “poor” production that causes it to be unattractive in its first listening, however, as successive listens are made, it is appreciated that they have recorded a disc of the songs that will work for them in their live shows and their live shows can be appreciated. different nuances.
