Review: Mysterizer “The Holy War 1095”

Mysterizer es una banda finesa que nos trae su segundo trabajo llamado “The Holy War 1095” via Rockshots Music y que salió a la venta el 3 de Septiembre. La banda realiza un metal con influencias preclaras de la era NWOBHM con pinceladas de Power metal recordando bandas como Mob Rules, Iron Mask y con ciertos guiños muy puntuales a Avantasia.

El disco comienza con el tema “Burn Wicht Burn” con una intro en un solo de batería y unos teclados épicos acompañados por una guitarra de estilo neoclásico tanto en la base rítmica como a la hora de afrontar el punteo. Le sigue “King of Kings” con una intro a cargo de voces corales monacales acompañadas por la guitarra que sirve de preludio a un tema donde las guitarras suenan a Maiden de los 90 y buenos coros. “Last Stand Hill” se inicia con unos teclados a lo Stratovarius y en que le queda un tema power con el teclado soportando la parte rítmica, buen coro y maravilloso punteo. “Virus C” le da un cierto aire Folk con la Intro a cargo de la batería y el teclado con efecto de violín, el tema se desarrolla con guitarra eléctrica/acústica y donde la voz de Tomi se ve muy exigida, coros que dan ganas de desgañitarse a viva voz en el directo.

“Sin After Sin” me recuerda a un tema que podía haber firmado Avantasia, en su faceta más Power y con los distintos cambios de ritmo en la canción. “The Fountain Of Immortal” entra con el sonido de lluvia y guitarra parsimoniosa ambientado el preludio roto por el grito de Tomi, conformándose un tema en el que la caja y el teclado acompaña a la voz de Tomi que es el que manda y que se ve arropado progresivamente por el resto del grupo hasta finalizar con el solo de guitarra de lujo. “Alea Lacta Est” es un tema de Power puro y duro como mandan los cánones al más puro estilo Stratovarius. “Heroes” se conforma como una balada donde la guitarra me recuerda a Timmo y donde aparecen nuevamente los sempiternos coros marca de la casa. “Dangerous Game” tiene una base de metal alemán que nos puede recordar a Accept o Axxis con buen trabajo de guitarras. “The Holy War 1095” finaliza el disco y sigue la tónica de su antecesora recordando totalmente a Axxis por sus coros, el uso más omnipresente de teclados y esos cambios de ritmo en la batería introduciendo rasgos Power.

Definitivamente es un buen disco que sigue la línea del disco anterior, y es que en el sonido de este grupo se observan referencias de multitud de grupos pero acaban por perfilar un estilo propio. Grupo a tener en cuenta en su trayectoria y que habrá que verlo en directo. Un saludo.

Mysterizer is a Finnish band that brings us their second album called “The Holy War 1095” via Rockshots Music and which goes on sale on September 3rd. The band performs a metal with preclear influences from the NWOBHM era with touches of Power metal reminding me of bands like Mob Rules, Iron Mask and with certain very specific nods to Avantasia.

The album begins with the theme “Burn Wicht Burn” with an intro on a drum solo and some epic keyboards accompanied by a neoclassical style guitar both in the rhythmic base and when facing the plucking. It is followed by “King of Kings” with an intro by monastic choral voices accompanied by the guitar that serves as a prelude to a song where the guitars sound like Maiden from the 90s and good choirs. “Last Stand Hill” begins with some Stratovarius keyboards and has a power theme with the keyboard supporting the rhythmic part, good chorus and wonderful plucking. “Virus C” gives it a certain Folk air with the Intro by the drums and the keyboard with a violin effect, the theme is developed with electric / acoustic guitar and where Tomi’s voice is very demanding, choruses that make you want to to shriek us out loud on stage.

“Sin After Sin” reminds me of a song that Avantasia could have signed, in its most Powerful side and with the different rhythm changes in the song. “The Fountain Of Immortal” enters with the sound of rain and parsimonious guitar set in the prelude broken by Tomi’s scream, forming a theme in which the box and keyboard accompany Tomi’s voice, which is the one who commands and who is He is gradually embraced by the rest of the group until finishing with the luxury guitar solo. “Alea Lacta Est” is a pure and simple Power song as the canons dictate in the purest Stratovarius style. “Heroes” is shaped like a ballad where the guitar reminds me of Timmo and where the everlasting choirs of the house appear again. “Dangerous Game” has a German metal base that can remind us of Accept or Axxis with good guitar work. “The Holy War 1095” ends the album and follows the tonic of its predecessor, totally remembering Axxis for its choruses, the most omnipresent use of keyboards and those rhythm changes in the drums introducing Power traits.

It is definitely a good album that follows the line of the previous album, and is that in the sound of this group there are references of a multitude of groups but they end up outlining their own style. Group to take into account in its trajectory and that will have to be seen live. All the best.
